{Cynthia+Brian} Los Suenos, Costa Rica

Thursday, February 21, 2008

Dan and I had great fun photographing the wedding of Cynthia and Brian at Los Suenos Resort near Jaco. The day was perfect, (a common theme in Costa Rica!) complete with a beautiful ceremony, a lovely candlelit dinner on the beach and a really fun party to follow. During the evening we also set up the "Dan Power Photography Photobooth" for the guests - check out the next blog entry for more on this - what fun!

Cindy was radiant!

A really great shot of the guys!

I love this photo - the bride was SO much fun (as you can see):)

A really beautiful and romantic setting for the dinner and party....

Truly a magical day - many thanks to Weddings Costa Rica for another beautifully orchestrated event! Brian and Cynthia, thank you so much for including us in your day - we are blessed....

Introducing...the Dan Power Photography Photobooth!

Wednesday, February 20, 2008

Dan Power Photography goes "old school" with our very own portable DP Photography Photobooth studio. At Cynthia's and Brian's wedding, Dan and I set up the Photobooth and then delivered the printed photos to the wedding guests at the end of the night - a real surprise to the guests and a huge hit! Of course there was quite a variety when it came to the nature of the photos...some silly, some sublime, and some just down right sweet.

{Polly+Frank} Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica

Sunday, February 17, 2008

Dan and I had a blast "tossing (or if you prefer, "trashing") tradition" with Polly and Frank! What fun we had photographing not only this Valentine's Day wedding, but also the day-after "trash the dress" session - good times! The ceremony was on the beach at Hotel Tulemar in Manuel Antonio and the next day was spent riding ATVs (oh my...) and visiting a waterfall, all finished off by throwing the bride into the swimming pool - talk about "tossing tradition"!

The Wedding Day...

Polly is so much fun!

The Day After...
I think this photo is so hilarious - I may be dating myself, but for some reason I am reminiscing about Power Rangers???

Polly giving ME lessons on stunting prior to our ride - she really did not know who she was dealing with!

OK...so I am a LITTLE out of my element. Dan snapped this of me during a weak moment...you can take the girl out of the concert hall, but you can't...well, you know the rest. Polly and Frank were so kind to me despite the fact that I drove that quad like an 85 year old lady just after hip-replacement surgery...thanks you guys, you were so sweet!

Warning: No brides were hurt in the making of this photo:).

Such a great time! Thanks to Weddings Costa Rica for planning the wedding and to Latitudes the Adventure Company for booking the ATV tour (among many other things). Polly and Frank, thank you so much for introducing me to the world of ATV's and for all of the laughs. It was such a pleasure to spend time with such a down-to-earth, fun-loving couple. So much happiness to you both!

Hugs - J:)

{Carla+Ben} Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica

Sunday, February 10, 2008

Dan and I had the pleasure of meeting Carla and Ben in Alberta, Canada when we shot their engagement photos last October. We really love engagement sessions because there is that extra level of comfort and trust when we photograph "the big day". Carla and Ben shed the autumn garb of late October in Canada, and trade-up for strapless and linen for their beautiful beach wedding in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica.

A gorgeous location for the ceremony right on Manuel Antonio Beach....

So pretty...

What a cutie:)!

I love this photo - they had the entire beach to themselves!

Many thanks to Weddings Costa Rica for planning this beautiful event and sincere thanks to Carla and Ben for including us in your paradise wedding! Warm wishes to you both...

{Donielle+Jon} Playa Flamingo, Costa Rica

Saturday, February 9, 2008

For our first February wedding of 2008, Dan and I photographed Donielle and Jon's big day at the Flamingo Beach Resort. Another great event planned by our friends at Weddings Costa Rica. Dan and I really had a lovely time meeting all of the friends and family who traveled such great distances to see these two tie the knot. Everyone was really great and trust me, they knew how to party! Fun times....

Great angle on this shot of Donielle and Jon during the ceremony - cool photo.

A very beautiful, not to mention very sweet bride!

How about this little sweetie? A VERY cute flower girl (and niece of the bride) - I just love this shot of her in PJ's with the wedding favor maracas...so adorable.

The bride and her sisters...cute photo!

Donielle and Jon - we cannot thank you enough for including us in your lovely celebration. We wish you two so much happiness and luck as you embark on this year of travel and self-discovery. What a wonderful beginning to what is sure to be a wonderful marriage.

Hugs and all good things...

{Staci+Jason} Potrero Bay, Costa Rica

Friday, February 8, 2008

Dan photographed our last January 2008 wedding for Staci and Jason at Bahia Del Sol hotel in Potrero Bay. Of course in true Costa Rican style, the flowers were amazing, the drinks were cold and the weather was perfect. These, among many other reasons, are why people choose to get married in paradise (and of course, why we choose to work in paradise)! Thanks to Weddings Costa Rica for planning this lovely day and to Staci and Jason for choosing paradise!

A really sweet bride shot....

The magic moment in the tropics....

Cute shot of the "maids" enjoying the fireworks!

It was so great to be a part of your paradise wedding - thank you so much for including Dan Power Photography in your day!

Much happiness to you both...
J:)
